Ravi Desai Joins the Fidelis Team as Director of Business Development

Ravi Desai Joins Fidelis

Fidelis is excited to announce that Ravi Desai has joined the team in the role of Director of Business Development.

Ravi brings with him decades of CAE and business development experience within the engineering industry and will be integral in all things strategy going forward with Fidelis. He also hopes to leverage his extensive network within the Automotive community, and beyond, to establish Fidelis as a go-to resource for CAE software and services.

From his bio:

Ravi is an accomplished Senior Executive with 36 years of domestic and international experience in electrification, product development, planning and program management. He is a strategic thinker who has taken several high-level corporate plans to implementation and has delivered outstanding results in Road-Lab-Math initiatives. He has valuable experience in vehicle and driveline design, testing, development and product launch at OEM and Tier 1 level. Ravi has background in Durability, Casting, NVH, Fuel Economy, Crash, Multi-body Dynamics and Thermal CFD functions.

Most recently, Ravi worked as the Director CAD & CAE at American Axle & Manufacturing from 2013-2020. He led the Virtual Design and Development of Conventional and Electrified Drivelines and was responsible for implementation and execution of analysis and design processes with a global staff of 140 engineers. His significant accomplishments include developing and coaching global CAD and CAE organizations, implementing several ground breaking technologies in Casting, CFD, Thermal and Cost modeling. He was a big part of the Jaguar I-Pace Electric Drive development and launch at AAM.

Previously, Ravi worked at General Motors for 29 years in various capacities, including Vehicle Integration CAE Director. Ravi also has business development experience in a start-up Technical Center.

Ravi has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from I.I.T, Chennai, India and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Wayne State University, USA.
